Education programs are back! A visit to the Lake Superior Zoo will inspire student learning and add “life” to your curriculum! Enhance your field trip experience with a hands-on education program.
Programs by Grade Level
Select a grade level to learn more about the education programs we offer.
School Rates
To receive these rates, you must have 10 or more paying guests affiliated with a PreK-12 accredited school, make an advance reservation, and pay in one single transaction upon arrival.

Zoo memberships and other discounts are not valid with Group Reservations
Group Rates
To receive these rates, you must have 10 or more paying guests, make an advance reservation, and pay in one single transaction upon arrival. These rates apply to daycares, camp groups, bus tours, homeschool groups, youth groups, scouts and large families.

Education Program Rates
- Animal Programs – $50 per group of up to 30 people
- Guided Zoo Tours – $65 per group of up to 30 people per day
- Behind-the-Scenes Programs – $80 – maximum of 30 people per day
Transportation Funding
Yellow Bus Funds
Thanks to the Donald Weesner Foundation, the Lake Superior Zoo is able to cover the cost of transportation for schools that complete the Yellow Bus Fund application process. Funds are allocated on a first come, first served basis. Prior to applying, you will need to contact the bus company for an estimate of the total cost of transportation.
How To Apply
- Download and complete a Yellow Bus Fund Application.
- Email completed application to Sarah Wilcox: swilcox@lszoo.org.
- Applications must be received at least 2 weeks prior to field trip.
- Once the application is received, a confirmation email will be sent to recipients.
- The school district or bus company must submit an invoice within 30 days after their trip to the zoo to receive reimbursement.
Reservations
Groups receive a discount on general admission if they make a Group Reservation in advance.
