Our Family & Youth Programs
The Lake Superior Zoo offers year-round educational programs designed to connect people with animals and the natural world.
Some of our programs are designed for children to be dropped off at the zoo. Some offer opportunities for children and caregivers to learn together as a family. For information about programs for schools, day cares,
Introduce your youngest animal lover to our friendly zoo animals. Children ages 2-3 will enjoy a story, activity, and animal encounter around a different theme each program.
Cub Club is designed for pre-school age children who are able to be successful in group programs without parent involvement. Children will participate in games, interactive activities, role play and crafts. We will explore the zoo, read stories and meet many animal friends!
Spend the day learning about animals, conservation, and the natural world! There are two age groups, Homeschool Explorers (6-10) and Homeschool Adventurers (11-15), with special curriculum for each group.
Zookeeper Job Shadowing
Wonder what it’s like to work with animals? Spend a morning helping out behind the scenes at the zoo! Prepare animal diets, make animal enrichments, tour our veterinary clinic, watch animal training and more!
Bring your group to the zoo for an overnight adventure they won’t forget!
School Break Camps ages 6-11
Looking for something for your children to do on a school holiday? Send them to the zoo for the day! Children will learn about animals while participating in hands-on activities and games.
