About Zoo Troop

Ages 6-8

Whether you embark on “Animal Adventures” or become a “Zookeeper for a Week,” all of these 4-day camps include exciting games and activities, art projects, and close-up animal encounters.

Cost:

  • Half Day (morning or afternoon) for 4 days:
    $84 Members | $104 Non-Members
  • Full Day (9 a.m.-4 p.m.) for 4 days:
    $184 Members | $224 Non-Members
  • Camp t-shirts are optional and cost an additional $10 during check out. Each week of camp has the same t-shirt design.

Zoo Troop Camp sessions run for four days (Monday-Thursday). Morning sessions start at 9:00 a.m. and end at 12:00 noon. Afternoon sessions start at 1:00 p.m. and end at 4:00 p.m. Full day sessions go from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and include an additional fee for lunch supervision and activities. Full day participants should bring a bag lunch or plan to purchase lunch at the Safari Café.

Zoo Troop camps are designed for children who have completed grades K-2. If a camp is full, you can join the waiting list through the online registration process.

Carnivore Camp

June 17-20, 2019 | 9:00 a.m.-12:00 noon

Travel to the top of the food chain as we explore the lives of the world’s best hunters!


Animal Adventures

June 17-20, 2019 | 1:00-4:00 p.m.

From the tropics to the deserts, we’ll adventure through the animal kingdom to learn about animals that live all over the world!


Zookeeper for a Week

July 8-11, 2019 | 9:00 a.m.-12:00 noon

Things with Wings

July 8-11, 2019 | 1:00-4:00 p.m.

Take off for a week with the animal kingdom’s true fliers: birds, butterflies, bugs and bats!


Pet Pals

July 15-18, 2019 | 9:00 a.m.-12:00 noon

Learn about pet care while helping take care of the zoo’s animals. Create toys for your pets and learn training tricks that will help you and your pet bond for life!


Where the Wild Things Are

July 15-18, 2019 | 1:00-4:00 p.m.

Meet many of the zoo’s wild things while also exploring the creek and trails for wild things you can find in your own backyard!


Zookeeper for a Week

From painting to play dough, learn about the zoo’s animals through the eyes of an artist. Discover how animals make art and create your own artwork to take home!
