Zoomobile

Invite the zoo to come to you!

These programs are a fun, interactive way to introduce students of all ages to animals without having to leave your community.

We offer two types of Zoomobiles: informal booths for events or formal presentations for seated audiences. To help make the reservation process go smoothly, please read our Frequently Asked Questions and the information below.

Booths

Booths are the ideal type of program for events, festivals, and company or church gatherings.

They are an informal educational experience for events where people walk around and explore at their own pace. Participants have an opportunity for one-on-one learning with our educators while meeting several animals.
Our booth features a few reptiles, amphibians or invertebrates. We do not bring mammals or birds to events. We cannot guarantee specific animal requests, but if there is an animal you don’t want us to bring, please let us know in the comments section of the Zoomobile Request Form.

Considerations for Booths

  • Please provide us with a table and two chairs.
  • If the booth will be outdoors, we ask that our booth be under a tent or in a shaded area. The temperature (with wind chill) must be above 65 degrees for the booth to be outside.
  • The zoo’s booth cannot be located near an area that has loud noises (e.g., music/bands, radio stations, loud speakers), other animals (e.g., dogs, petting zoos), activities involving balls or balloons, costumed characters or inflatable bounce houses.

2023 Booth Pricing

  • 1st hour = $125 (plus mileage if applicable); $145 starting 1/1/24
  • 2nd & 3rd hour at same location = $80 each; $90 starting 1/1/24
  • Half hour at same location = $50; $70 starting 1/1/24
  • Maximum of 3 hours

Mileage & Additional Fees

  • First 20 miles from zoo are free; 50 cents per mile for programs over 20 miles from the zoo.
  • Locations more than 60-minutes driving time from the zoo will be charged an additional $30.
  • Programs that begin or end after 5:00 p.m. will be charged an additional $30.

Formal Presentations

Formal presentations are for an indoor seated audience of 30 people or less (20 or less if under age 5). The audience must be seated in a half-circle, on the floor if possible. These 30-minute programs offer your group up-close animal interactions and special insight into how animals live, how we care for them, and what their behaviors mean. This type of program is ideal for classrooms, nursing homes, day care centers, libraries, and scout meetings. You may choose from our program topics, or we can customize a program to meet your needs. Our presentations feature three animals that are selected based on the program topic you choose. We cannot guarantee specific animal requests, but if there is an animal you don’t want us to bring, please let us know in the comments section of the Zoomobile Request Form.

Considerations for Presentations

  • We will need at least a 6-foot by 6-foot floor area for our set up. For the best experience, the audience should plan to sit on the floor in a half circle. The presenter will sit on the floor with the animals. The audience will be asked to sanitize their hands before and after touching any animals.
  • If you have more than 30 people, please book multiple programs and divide into smaller groups. Plan for each program to last 30 minutes with a 5-10 minute break in between.
  • We are not able to offer large group assembly programs at this time.
  • Assisted Living Facilities or any program where audience will be seated in chairs instead of the floor: We can only bring turtles, frogs, lizards, birds, insects, or snakes.

2023 Presentation Pricing

  • 1st program = $125 (plus mileage if applicable); $145 starting 1/1/24
  • 2nd & 3rd consecutive program at same location = $80 each; $90 starting 1/1/24
